Corn detasseling is an impressive summer job opportunity for students living in Southeastern Indiana. With the season lasting only a few short weeks you are able to earn a mint and still enjoy the bulk of your summer. The work is challenging and the friendships are awesome -- work well and hard and the bonuses you can earn make it even better.

We hope you decide to detassel this year. The minimum wage will increase from $6.55 to $7.25 on July 24, 2009. However, we will begin paying $7.25/hr at the beginning of the season. In addition to the wage increase, we also continue to pay our regular bonuses to detasselers that show up every day they are needed. The bonus is $.50 on every hour for first year detasselers, and $.75 for returning detasselers. The season usually begins around the first or second week in July.

We still need more detasselers for the season. If you have a friend that is interested, they are welcomed to come to the meeting or give us a call. They must be 13 years or older to detassel. Everyone should plan to attend the orientation meeting . We fill out the necessary paperwork, which will enable us to pay you once we begin detasseling. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend the meeting too. If there is a problem or if you have any questions, please give us a call.
